Job Summary
The Electronic Lab Technician IV serves as a senior technical resource supporting the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of complex electronic systems and components. This role works closely with firmware, verification, and validation teams and supports activities involving high-voltage power systems, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, PCB debugging, and electronic test equipment. The technician will contribute to advanced testing and documentation while providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members. Strong hands-on electronics experience is highly valued, with relevant experience prioritized over education.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot complex electronic systems, circuits, and components.
• Develop and execute test procedures to evaluate the performance, reliability, and functionality of electronic systems.
• Set up and perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and related validation activities.
• Support testing and troubleshooting of high-voltage power systems and electronic equipment.
• Diagnose complex circuit and system issues and identify root causes using appropriate test methods and instrumentation.
• Read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, technical specifications, and test documentation.
• Perform basic soldering and hands-on electronic assembly or rework as needed.
• Use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and related instrumentation.
• Document test results, troubleshooting activities, findings, and corrective actions accurately.
• Collaborate with firmware engineers, verification engineers, validation testers, and other cross-functional teams.
• Support the development and improvement of electronic testing methodologies, procedures, and processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior laboratory and technical personnel.
• Research and apply relevant electronic design, testing, and industry standards.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in electronics testing, troubleshooting, laboratory work, or a related technical environment; more extensive experience preferred.
• Strong electronics background with experience in electronic testing and debugging.
• Experience troubleshooting PCBs, electronic circuits, and complex hardware systems.
• Experience setting up and performing HIL testing.
• Experience working with high-voltage power systems or related electronic equipment.
• Experience with electronic test equipment and instrumentation, including oscilloscopes and similar diagnostic tools.
• Basic soldering skills and hands-on electronics experience.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and technical documentation.
• Experience creating and maintaining test documentation and recording test results.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with firmware, verification, validation, and engineering teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and work independently on complex assignments.
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuits and electronic components.
• Experience with electronic design tools, schematic capture, PCB layout, or simulation software preferred.
• Experience with RF, EMC, environmental, or other specialized electronic testing preferred.
• Knowledge of IPC standards and applicable electronic testing regulations preferred.
• Experience with FPGA development or hardware description languages such as Verilog or VHDL preferred.
• Project leadership or technical leadership experience preferred.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent hands-on electronics experience may be considered in place of a degree.

Work Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant electronics testing, troubleshooting, laboratory, or technical experience required.
• Extensive experience in electronic design and testing preferred.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering and validation teams preferred.
