Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: JOIN OUR TALENT NETWORK Senior Subcontracts Administrator Apply now Date: Sep 28, 2026 Location: Lexington, MA, US Company: MIT Lincoln Laboratory Position Description The Contracting & Logistics Department is seeking a Senior Subcontracts Administrator to support the Facilities, Facilities Modernization Plan/Charge (FMP/C), and MILCON Team. The successful candidate will independently manage complex contracting activities supporting architectural and engineering (A&E) services, construction, facilities maintenance, professional services, capital improvement programs, and other facility-related acquisitions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction, facilities, A&E, or capital project procurement and subcontracting, with demonstrated experience managing procurements from acquisition planning and solicitation through negotiation, award, administration, modification, and closeout. The candidate will work closely with project managers, program managers, engineers, architects, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to develop acquisition strategies, resolve contractual and business issues, and support project cost, schedule, and technical objectives. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong business judgment, leadership, and the ability to independently manage multiple complex procurement actions. Primary Responsibilities Independently plan, solicit, negotiate, award, administer, modify, and close out complex construction, A&E, facilities, and other types of related contracts. Develop acquisition and sourcing strategies and conduct market research. Prepare and manage RFPs, RFQs, IFBs, RFIs, and other procurement actions. Review statements of work, specifications, drawings, evaluation criteria, and other procurement documentation for completeness and contractual risk. Analyze proposals and quotations, perform cost and price analysis, and document procurement decisions. Lead negotiations involving price, scope, schedule, terms and conditions, and other commercial matters. Evaluate and negotiate applicable FAR/DFARS requirements and subcontract flow-down clauses. Administer modifications, construction change orders, A&E additional services, funding actions, and other post-award matters. Advise project teams on acquisition strategy, contractual requirements, commercial risk, and subcontract administration. Prepare and maintain required acquisition documentation and subcontract files in accordance with MIT Lincoln Laboratory's approved purchasing system. Work with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to resolve subcontract performance and administration issues. Provide guidance and informal mentoring to less-experienced Subcontracts Administrators. Participate in department initiatives, process improvements, and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications U.S. Citizenship Ability to obtain and maintain a government (DoW) security clearance. A Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of (6) six years of experience OR a master's and a minimum of four (4) years of experience OR equivalent -- in the following fields construction, facilities, A&E, or capital project procurement, contracting and/or subcontracting. Demonstrated experience independently managing complex procurements from solicitation through award, administration, modification, and closeout. Experience with cost and price analysis, negotiations, change orders, and subcontract terms and conditions. Strong working knowledge of FAR and DFARS requirements and applicable flow-down clauses. Strong analytical, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications Experience with complex or high-value construction and capital projects. Familiarity with construction delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design-Build (DB), and Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR). DoD or Government contracting experience. Active security clearance SAP/SRM or similar electronic procurement system experience. Professional certification in government contracting, procurement, or supply chain management. The final salary offered to a selected candidate will depend on various factors, including-but not limited to-the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, skills and education/training, internal equity considerations and applicable legal requirements.
