We are looking for a self-sufficient leader who can work productively within a fast-paced environment and provide direct people management, mentorship, and career guidance for a team of under 5 engineers. A good candidate will have the adaptability to work full-stack but will primarily focus on RESTful client and server development. Experience in Agile software development methodologies is preferred. The applicant must be able to decompose user stories into engineering tasks, provide accurate time estimates, and help guide their team's technical delivery. They will participate in and lead agile sprint planning, develop automated tests, ensure initial documentation of development work, and conduct regular performance reviews and 1-on-1 career alignments for their direct reports.

15% domestic travel may be required for this position; typical travel assignments would be 3-5 days.

• 1i2+ years of experience in a people management, team lead, or engineering mentorship role
• Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop a small team of technical direct reports
• 10-15 years experience in networked programming using Java
• Minimum education level needed: B.A. or B.S. in computer science, or equivalent
• Experience developing unit tests with tools such as SonarQube or other code coverage tools
• General knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher
• Basic understanding of web-based technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Build pipeline automation and packaging using tools such as Bamboo
• General cloud knowledge with AWS or Azure
• Familiarity with working in a SAFe Agile environment using Atlassian suite of tools such as Jira and Confluence or other similar collaboration tools

• Experience managing engineering performance, hiring, and resource allocation
• Expert software development experience in Java

• Recent experience with Angular

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $140,000-$170,000
