Role Overview
VersAbility Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable General Clerk II to support our Military Sealift Command (MSC) Government Contract in Norfolk, Virginia. In this role, you will use established procedures, technical guidance, and office practices to complete a variety of administrative and clerical assignments, primarily involving data entry, correspondence processing, filing, scheduling, and records management.

You'll help maintain accurate records, support daily office operations, identify routine operational issues, and escalate concerns to leadership when appropriate. This position is well suited for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable working with detailed information, and committed to maintaining quality, security, confidentiality, and professional customer service.

What You'll Do
*Provide general administrative and clerical support through correspondence management, data entry, filing, scheduling, and records management.
*Follow established procedures, technical guidance, and written instructions accurately.
*Maintain and accurately update internal databases, spreadsheets, reports, records, and electronic and physical filing systems.
*Procure, monitor, and maintain office supplies and equipment within approved budgetary guidelines, including submitting order requests and tracking inventory.
*Follow organizational policies, procedures, compliance requirements, confidentiality standards, and data-security guidelines.
*Maintain professionalism, discretion, and accuracy when handling sensitive or confidential information.
*Complete clerical procedures with strong attention to detail.
*Accurately track and report workload information to the Department Lead for inclusion in the Monthly Quality Control Report.
*Obtain access to required military installations and work onsite during scheduled work hours.
*Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
*High school diploma or GED equivalent.
*Minimum of one year of clerical, administrative support, data entry, or office experience.
*Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
*Working knowledge of general office procedures and compliance requirements.
*Ability to follow established procedures, technical manuals, and written instructions accurately.
*Ability to perform multiple tasks while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
*Ability to sort information alphabetically and numerically with a high degree of accuracy.
*Basic mathematical skills sufficient to perform clerical functions.
*Effective verbal and written communication skills.
*Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
*Ability to appropriately handle confidential information and maintain professionalism while supporting government operations.
*Self-transportation to Naval Station Norfolk is required due to security requirements.
*Valid driver's license as required for the assigned location.
*Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. VersAbility can facilitate the clearance process for eligible candidates; however, at minimum, an Interim Secret Clearance is required before a start date can be issued.
Preferred
*Proven experience in a clerical or data-entry role.
*Experience using internal databases, records-management systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
*Familiarity with government, military, or compliance-based administrative processes.
*Experience supporting fast-paced office operations and managing multiple priorities.
*Familiarity with disability services is a plus.

Schedule
This is a full-time, onsite position in Norfolk, Virginia, Monday through Friday.
Available department schedules include:
*7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Eastern
*7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Eastern
Specific shift hours depend on the department assigned. Candidates must be able to work either listed schedule, as department assignments are based on contractual needs and assignment to a specific department or schedule cannot be guaranteed.
All shifts include a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two paid 15-minute breaks.
Occasional flexibility may be required to meet deadlines, support meetings, or complete time-sensitive assignments.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position operates in a professional office environment supporting a government contract. The role involves frequent interaction with internal staff, leadership, government personnel, and other stakeholders and requires professionalism, discretion, and strong customer service.

Work is primarily performed at a desk using computers, phones, printers, and other administrative tools. The position requires managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions such as phone calls, meetings, and requests for administrative support.

Employees are expected to appropriately safeguard sensitive and confidential information, including personally identifiable information (PII), in accordance with organizational policies and compliance requirements.

Physical requirements include prolonged sitting and computer work; frequent typing, filing, and use of office equipment; occasional standing and walking; frequent reaching, bending, or stooping; and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 10-20 pounds. Stair use may be required because not all installation buildings have elevators.

Compensation & Health and Welfare Benefit
Compensation for this position is established by the applicable government contract and/or wage determination. The posted pay reflects the fixed rate authorized for this position and is not subject to negotiation except where permitted by applicable law or contract requirements.

In addition to the applicable hourly wage, this position is eligible for a Health and Welfare benefit of $5.09, provided in accordance with the applicable government contract and benefit requirements.
