Position Title: Machine Operator
Wage: $22.00 - $23.50/hour Shift: 1st or 2nd Hours: 5:00am - 3:30pm or 3:15pm - 1:45am (Monday - Thursday); 2nd Shift Will Train on 1st Shift for 2 Weeks The Machine Operator plays a vital role in supporting our automotive production value stream by setting up, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment to ensure the consistent production of high-quality products. Working within a full layup-to-trimming production cell, this hands-on position is responsible for maintaining efficient equipment performance, conducting routine inspections and minor repairs, and ensuring machinery operates safely and at optimal capacity. From material staging and machine setup through production and shutdown, the Machine Operator helps drive safety, quality, and productivity while maintaining accurate production documentation and supporting the smooth flow of operations throughout the facility. Machine Operator Responsibilities: - Take ownership of running the machinery across our full layup-through-trimming production cell-from staging and setup to operation, shutdown, and housekeeping - Keep equipment running at its best by maintaining, troubleshooting, adjusting, cleaning, and handling minor repairs - Champion safety by monitoring the work area for hazards and inspecting equipment for safety barriers and defects - Train on production equipment and machinery in a safe, productive manner - Operate your assigned machine and serve as a backup across various operator positions - Accurately complete hourly quality and production reports, logging any downtime and its cause - Ensure quality by inspecting finished products, catching nonconforming items, and reporting defects to the right people - Maintain a clean, organized production area - Collaborate across departments to keep safety, quality, and production information flowing throughout the facility - Uphold a safe, healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and regulations Requirements for Machine Operator: - One year to three years of similar or related experience - Prior experience with composite materials (i.e., carbon fiber, fiberglass, etc.) and/or resin systems strongly preferred - Experience on the following machines strongly preferred, layup, consolidator, trim, and press - Understands weights and measurements along with basic math skills - Mechanical aptitude and strong hand tool knowledge - Alert and effectively escalates issues immediately by communicating clearly Benefits: - QPS offers healthcare insurance through American Workforce after 4 weeks on assignment and paid holidays after 960 worked hours.
