Software Engineer

Kratos Space in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a team-oriented Software Engineer to build software applications for our Service, Network and Device management products. We are looking for a self-sufficient software engineer who can work productively within a fast-paced engineering team. A good candidate will have the adaptability to work full stack but primarily focusing on RESTful client and server development.

Experience in Agile software development methodologies is preferred. Applicant must be able to decompose user stories into engineering tasks and provide accurate time estimates. They will participate in agile sprint planning as well as develop automated tests and initial documentation of development work.

15% domestic travel may be required for this position; typical travel assignments would be 3-5 days.

• 5-7 years experience in networked programming using Java
• Minimum education level needed: B.A. or B.S. in computer science, or equivalent
• Experience developing unit tests with tools such as SonarQube or other code coverage tools
• General knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher
• Basic understanding of web-based technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScirpt)
• Build pipeline automation and packaging using tools such as Bamboo
• General cloud knowledge with AWS or Azure
• Familiarity with working in a SAFe Agile environment using Atlassian suite of tools such as Jira and Confluence or other similar collaboration tools

• Expert software development experience in Java

• Recent experience with Angular

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $115,000-$145,000
