DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the daily well-being of residents by providing essential non-professional nursing care under the direction of licensed staff. The role focuses on maintaining comfort, safety, and respectful assistance in accordance with established standards. As a Nurse Aide, you will perform the following duties:
- Resident Care: Observe residents and report changes while assisting with daily needs
- Daily Activities: Support residents with bathing, grooming, meals, mobility, and restorative programs
- Safety Measures: Apply safety devices and maintain a secure and organized environment
- Resident Transport: Move and position residents safely and escort them to appointments
- Documentation: Record care and services accurately and in compliance with requirements
- Room Care: Maintain cleanliness, order, and readiness of resident rooms and supplies

- Full-time employment (8 hours per day; 40 hours per week)
- Work hours will be determined from the following shifts, with a 30-minute lunch. All shifts offer rotating days and weekends. Every other weekend is required.
- 1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
- 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
- DMVA is pleased to announce the Nursing Referral Program, promoting the hiring and retention of nursing staff at Pennsylvania's veterans homes. Under this program, both referring employees and referred candidates may be eligible for payments of up to $4,000.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
- This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
