First Citizens Bank offers an exciting summer internship program that provides development opportunities and hands-on work experience while creating a talent pipeline for the Bank. Our interns will apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while making a positive impact across the organization and the communities we serve. The Wealth Internship at First Citizens Bank is designed to provide an opportunity for you to apply your knowledge in a corporate environment while delivering tangible value to the organization. Our intern program is designed to provide you practical day-to-day experience and exposure to a range of wealth topics, allowing you to not only have an impact but also to really learn about the business.

Interns will have exposure to the following areas:

  • Wealth Planning
  • Portfolio Strategy
  • First Citizens Investor Services
  • Private Banking
  • Personal Trust Services
  • Institutional Services
  • Capital Management Group
  • Other wealth support services (strategy, finance, tech, etc)

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Work with a host team who will guide you in your project work and help you learn about their team and responsibilities.
  • Be a part of a team of high-performing motivated Wealth interns from around the country.

  • Be part of a dynamic team with meaningful projects.
  • Accountabilities could include areas such as research, analytics, projects, strategy, process review and improvement, content creation, technology enhancements and business support.
  • Attend professional development sessions, informational sessions, networking and community service events.
  • Have a dedicated manager and program manager to help you navigate the bank and the internship program.
  • Prepare a final presentation to be shared with division leaders and other key stakeholders to share your accomplishments and experience during the internship.

Internship dates: 5/24/27 - 7/30/27

Position Specific Skills:

Required qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during the time of the summer program)
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program

Preferred qualifications:

  • Juniors pursuing a BA/BS/BBA degree with a focus in Financial courses or other related field of study
  • 3.0 minimum GPA
  • Strong desire to learn and grow
  • Possess a positive attitude, naturally curious and enjoys collaborating with others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to adapt and adjust priorities based on business needs
  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly
