What role will you play?

As an intern in Technology, you'll be embedded within an engineering team and contribute to projects that have meaningful business impact while developing your technical and professional skills. Using software engineering, data analysis, problem-solving, and coding skills, you'll gain hands-on experience across modern cloud and AI platforms, while also working with technologies that support critical operations across Macquarie's Commodities and Global Markets business.

You'll work alongside the business teams you support in Houston, giving you direct access to end users, decision makers, and the fast-moving energy markets they operate in. This proximity provides valuable insight into how technology enables business outcomes, while helping you develop a deep understanding of commodities and financial markets.

You may work on projects such as:

  • Software engineering and application development, including designing, developing, testing, and deploying code using modern development frameworks and cloud-native technologies.
  • Cloud, platform, and infrastructure engineering that supports scalable, resilient, and secure business solutions.
  • Artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics initiatives that improve user experiences, streamline processes, and enable better business decisions.
  • Modernization of existing applications and technology platforms to support future business growth and innovation





What you offer

  • You have a unique perspective. We want to hear it. This opportunity is for undergraduate students expecting to graduate between December 2027 - June 2028.
  • You have experience coding in languages such as Python, Java, C#, or similar or experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science.
  • You enjoy solving problems and applying technology to real-world business challenges.
  • You are curious, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • You like to collaborate with others and are comfortable building strong working relationships.
  • You have strong attention to detail and an interest in cloud technology, software engineering and AI.
