Radiologic Technologists play a vital role in patient care by performing diagnostic imaging procedures that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. They operate radiographic equipment, ensure high-quality diagnostic images, maintain patient safety, and provide compassionate care throughout the imaging process.

A Typical Day for a Radiologic Technologist May Include:
  • Performing diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Positioning patients and operating imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns to ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Adhering to radiation safety standards and quality control procedures.
  • Monitoring equipment performance and reporting any operational concerns.
  • Documenting imaging procedures accurately within the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborating with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
  • Reporting identified safety concerns, including hazardous conditions, unsecured areas, equipment issues, and potential medical errors.

Required Qualifications
  • New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
