| Essential Job Duties |
The Department of Finance in the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track
open-rank Professor of the Practice in Finance. The position will support the department's undergraduate and graduate programs, with particular opportunities to contribute in areas such as investments, capital markets, portfolio management, financial management, and related areas.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in finance at the undergraduate and graduate (MBA) levels.
- Teach courses in both in-person and online formats.
- Leverage professional and industry experience to connect classroom learning with current practices and developments in financial markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry partners to create meaningful experiential learning, professional networking, and career-development opportunities for students.
- Engage with and support student finance organizations and related extracurricular activities.
- Contribute to the academic mission of the Department of Finance and Poole College of Management through service, professional engagement, and collaboration with faculty and staff.
Professors of the Practice typically teach three course sections (nine credit hours) per semester. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student engagement, and connecting academic learning with professional practice.
Faculty rank and compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's qualifications, professional experience, and credentials.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Requires doctor's degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.
|
| Other Required Qualifications |
- Demonstrated expertise in all subfields of finance will be considered including Investments, Corporate Finance, Portfolio Management, or other related areas of Finance.
- Ability to teach Finance courses at both the undergraduate and graduate (MBA) levels.
- Strong professional or industry experience relevant to finance and capital markets.
- Ability to translate industry experience and current practices into effective classroom instruction.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and student engagement skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and finance professionals.
- Commitment to departmental and college service.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Advanced degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a closely related field.
- Significant professional experience in Finance.
- Prior experience teaching Finance courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
- Demonstrated ability to build industry partnerships and experiential learning opportunities for students.
- Relevant professional certifications or credentials, such as the CFA designation.
