Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Anatomic Pathology

About This Role:

The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (http://www.ksvdl.org/) and Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology (https://www.vet.k-state.edu/academics/dmp/), College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented and collaborative anatomic pathologist at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Requirements include a DVM or equivalent degree and ACVP board certification or board eligibility.

Position responsibilities are flexible depending on the professional interests of the successful candidate and could range from 70% directed diagnostic service with 30% research /teaching, to 50% directed diagnostic service with 50% collaborative research service. Our diverse and busy diagnostic service duties include necropsy, mail-in and biopsy case management with timely communication of results to clients, didactic and experiential teaching of veterinary and graduate students, and training of anatomic pathology residents. KSVDL has a large and diverse caseload, which includes companion animal, all types of livestock, exotic/zoo species, wildlife, and poultry. Collaborative research opportunities include pathology support of KSU or external investigators, BSL-2 and BSL-3 agriculture animal containment experiments in support of two national Centers of Excellence, the Center of Excellence for Emerging Zoonotic Animal Diseases (http://www.ceezad.org) and the Center on Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (https://www.k-state.edu/cezid).

The successful candidate will join a growing community of scientists affiliated with KSU and federal and regional centers including the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (https://www.usda.gov/nbaf), the Arthropod-borne Animal Diseases Research Unit (https://www.ars.usda.gov/plains-area/mhk/cgahr/abadru), and the Biosecurity Research Institute (https://www.bri.k-state.edu/).
