POSITION OVERVIEW The Department of Neurological Surgery at the UC Irvine Health, School of Medicine anticipates openings for physicians in its various clinical fellowships - skull base, neurointerventional surgery, epilepsy, functional, and neurocritical care. These openings will be at the level of Clinical Instructor, in the Health Sciences Clinical Series (non-tenured). The Health Sciences Clinical Instructor will be primarily responsible for clinical instruction at UC Irvine Medical Center and/or affiliated sites in Orange County. The Health Sciences Clinical Instructor will also assist with formative and summative assessment and simulated activities related to the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Clinicians interested in pursuing a one -year or two-year Fellowship in sub-specialty training programs within the Department of Neurological Surgery practice will be given the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic department that provides care in UC Irvine Health clinical locations, including the UC Irvine Health Medical Center, a modern facility with state -of-the -art operating rooms. * Skull Base Neurological Surgery Fellowship Frank P.K. Hsu, MD, PhD Skull Base Neurological Surgery Fellowship Director * Neurointerventional Surgery Fellowship (two-year fellowship) * CAST Neurosurgical Critical Care Fellowship * Epilepsy Neurological Surgery Fellowship * Functional Neurological Surgery Fellowship QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible in appropriate board specialty in Neurological Surgery/Neurology. Completion of an ACGME approved residency training program in Neurological Surgery/Neurology. Positions are dependent upon funding. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support. DEA license and California medical license prior to start of fellowship.
