Sr. Data Product Analyst (Hybrid)

This role will work closely with business partners to understand their challenges and develop data-driven solutions that the Decision Intelligence Group (DIG) data engineers and architects will build leveraging a broad set of data. As an expert of data products, this role will ensure the business partners can easily understand, access, and utilize data to make better business decisions directly in data tables or via dashboards. This role will serve as the final authority when the business has questions related to data products. This role is a hybrid between a next-gen Business Intelligence (BI) analyst and an Analytics Engineer with accountability for data products and direct influence on the company's success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the data product subject matter expert and collaborate with business leaders, data engineers, data scientists, software engineers, and other developers to deliver the right data to the right people at the right time to make the right decisions

  • Collaborate with business partners as the primary liaison within DIG by understanding their data needs, gathering requirements, translating business problems into technical solutions, leading to broad adoption and business impact

  • Develop and implement data models, tables, and dashboards that help the business interpret data, derive insights, and make informed decisions

  • Design flexible and comprehensive dashboards that enable the business to answer the majority of their questions in minutes/hours instead of days/weeks or building dozens of visualizations for specific needs

  • Champion data solutions that can be used by multiple teams across Chamberlain Group

  • Evangelize the data products adoption through training materials, webinars, and hands-on training with business analysts through the company

  • Conduct independent research on all aspects of a product's experiences and data, provide findings and recommendations on which data are critical to fully understand the customer experience.

  • Explore and onboard new third-party data sources that can improve business performance

  • Recognize, develop, and adopt best practices for building analytical insights including data integrity, testing, design, analysis, validation, documentation, and training to ensure data products are adopted

  • Providing mentorship/guidance to other members of the team related to best practices, skill development and creating business value

  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

  • Protect Chamberlain Group's reputation by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or another related field

Experience:

  • 3+ years of work experience within Analytics/Business Intelligence, leading projects and building actionable, data-based solutions (data models, tables, and dashboards) in a cloud environment.

  • Advanced experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik .

  • Intermediate level experience with Python 3 and focus on Pandas, Polars, or Spark for data analytics use cases (similar R experience acceptable)

  • Experience creating self-service analytics, preferably within Azure Cloud architecture, PowerBI, and/or Databricks.

  • Experience working with large data volumes both structured and unstructured.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL.

  • Strong understanding of data warehouse/data modeling concepts and procedures.

  • Strong business presence and acumen to help business partners decipher their true underlying data needs that support the insights that will lead to incremental business impact.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive data-driven culture across the organization.

  • Ability to effectively lead projects from conception to conclusion, both independently and in a team environment (including working with both internal and external resources).

  • Ability to develop, document, and deliver end user materials such as training or project artifacts.

  • Working knowledge of Azure cloud-based architecture and PowerBI.

  • Proficiency within the Microsoft Office Suite of products.

  • Master's degree in related field

  • Power BI Development and Design-related certification

Experience:

  • Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks and ADLS Gen 2

  • Google analytics, Firebase, Big Query

  • Event Hubs, Kafka

  • Salesforce, SAP, CDP platforms such as Tealium

  • Building and creating web-based data visualization

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Project Management/Tracking tools such as Jira

  • Source Control, BitBucket, etc.

  • Working with a software/technology organization
