Senior Electrical Design Engineer

ATS has an exciting line of high-performance test systems that support the semiconductor industry around the world.

ATS is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Lake Forest, CA. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer with a diverse skill set and solid understanding of system design to work within several engineering disciplines. This individual will be responsible for the design and integration of complex electronic test systems that are used for production test and characterization of semiconductor devices and modules. They will participate in a broad range of tasks, including working with cross-functional teams to perform electronic circuit design and integration/ validation, production test verification, troubleshooting, and deployment setup/ support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Participate in a cross-functional team to develop creative, cost-competitive integration/ validation/ test solutions for new products at a system and sub-system level.
  • Interface with system engineering team and manufacturing to ensure that systems meet all requirements and ship on time.
  • Electrical design, including high speed digital circuit, analog circuit design, micro-computer, FPGA, power switching circuits.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical and firmware design teams, to ensure proper integration and validation of systems.
  • Participate in supplier design reviews, selections, etc.
  • Drive reliability and quality into the testing processes of all units shipped to customers.
  • Ensure that technical reviews occur in accordance with company processes.
  • Produce system specification and test acceptance documentation.
  • Support factory testing activities as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
