About the Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology

The Finance Area consists of nine tenure-track faculty members and includes one endowed chair. Faculty members have distinctive backgrounds and pursue a variety of research interests, including asset pricing, corporate finance, banking, household finance, labor finance, FinTech, and machine learning. They publish in the premier outlets of finance and adjacent fields, and their research has received numerous scholarly awards. Job Summary

The Scheller College of Business https://www.scheller.gatech.edu/ at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia invites applications for an Assistant Professor faculty position in Finance starting in fall 2025.

Responsibilities

Faculty candidates for Assistant Professor should possess demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and potential for excellent scholarly research. Salary and a teaching load of three courses per year are competitive with leading research universities.

Responsibilities for this position entails:

  • Excellence in classroom instruction in subjects related to finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Dedication to participation and leadership in professional activities, such as presenting work-in-progress at important professional conferences, peer-review, and editorial positions in relevant journals.
  • Commitment to service and student-engagement at the Institute level and beyond.
Required Qualifications

The minimum requirements are a Ph.D. in Finance or an associated area (candidates must have their Ph.D. completed no later than July 1, 2025).

  • The ability to adopt teaching strategies that support the learning and success of all students.
  • The ability to engage students in experiential learning activities and pedagogy that support student success.
