Description

We are hiring a 2025 Industrial Design Spring Co-op to join our Global Design team! In this role, you would be getting hands-on experience with a design team that works with many different functions of the business. This is a great opportunity to gain experience with seasoned designers at an industry leading company. Our intern program is designed to offer hands-on experience to aspiring designers by involving them in real-world explorations and production-bound projects.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Grow to understand and apply research insights
  • Use design and technology skills to creatively conceptualize and develop unique and innovative product and component recommendations
  • Work with peers in other fields (engineering, marketing, supply chain, project management) to conceptualize, problem solve and develop components and products which are destined for production.
  • Develop your own opinions and thoughtfully share them with the team
  • Explore new concepts through sketching and building quick prototypes
  • Assist designers in project tasks, such as documenting projects, building physical and digital models, and preparing for presentations
  • Build relationships with engineers, project managers, and marketers to learn how to implement ideas into real products

This small and mighty team is comprised of Industrial Designers, UX Designer, Interior Designers, Project Managers, Engineers, and a Model Maker.

  • Are you both creative and analytical? A critical thinker who is driven by curiosity?
  • Do you have ideas and like to build them? Do you enjoy making things with your hands?
  • Do you enjoy using your strong communication skills to express yourself through words and/or drawings?
  • Are you comfortable with using or learning new software?
  • Are you able to juggle multiple tasks at once, prioritize them then execute?
  • Do you have a well-rounded background of experiences?
  • Are you empathetic and understanding?
  • Do you enjoy working in teams to achieve individual tasks with little to no supervision?

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate design student status
  • Preferred majors: Industrial, Product or Furniture Design
  • Proficiency in: SketchUp, Fusion 360 or similar solid modeler, and Adobe Creative Suite
