The Office of Information Technology at the Dell Medical School is looking for a Senior IT Manager- Electronic Health Records (Epic).

As a Senior IT Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting this mission by leading critical projects that enhance our healthcare systems and services.

Purpose

Dell Medical School is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior IT Manager to lead the management and implementation of Electronic Health Records (EHR) projects. Experience with Epic and/or Cerner is necessary. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale IT projects in a healthcare setting, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive projects to completion on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead and manage the end-to-end implementation of EHR projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clinical staff, IT teams, and external vendors, to ensure project alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate and allocate resources effectively to ensure project milestones are met. This includes managing project teams, budgets, and timelines.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact. Proactively address issues as they arise.

  • Change Management: Implement and manage change management processes to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and technologies. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to facilitate transition.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.

  • Reporting: Provide regular project updates to senior leadership, including status reports, progress metrics, and performance evaluations.

  • Vendor Management: Liaise with EHR and other third-party vendors to ensure that project requirements are clearly communicated and met.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on EHR implementations. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required. Strong understanding of healthcare IT systems, project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), and change management processes. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects in a healthcare environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree is preferred. Prior experience with Epic and/or Cerner is highly desirable. Additional certifications in Epic (e.g., Epic Project Manager, Epic Application Manager) are preferred.

Salary Range

$110,000+ depending on qualifications
