Your Role at Baxter
THIS IS WHERE you build trust to achieve results! This position will perform the technical implementation of Baxter Care Communications products. Your duties will include software, hardware, and network and implementation activities, advanced IT tasks (network design and topology, network integrations, etc.), and to provide oversight, training and direction to 3rd party contractor implementation activities. This is a full-time, remote, field-based position where the working hours consist of Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Willing and able to travel approximately 50%; however, when business necessitates, travel can be 100% and on short notice. After-hours/weekend work may be requested on a volunteer basis and is subject to a bonus. This role requires travel primarily throughout the western US, though needs of business may dictate travel in other regions. Candidates from New Mexico, Arizona, and/or surrounding areas are preferred.
Your Team:
This role works closely with other members of the Implementation Team including Project Managers, Educational Services, and Sales to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the implementation process.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and perform implementation of Baxter's Care Communications products and integration of their partners' applications/systems.
- Lead network architecture, system fail-over, and other technical system design discussions with customer PMO, IT, MIS or bio-med departments, installation contractors, and other trades as the need arises.
- Work with customer IT departments to assess and evaluate network security needs and develop policies and procedures for ensuring the integrity of specified customer servers, device infrastructure, and network topology.
- Leads technical aspect of team-based projects, handling multifaceted deployments of advanced features and applications which can include customized integrations, evolving configurations, and adapting system functionality to best meet clinical workflow requests.
- Perform site surveys, RF surveys, develop system integration plans using multiple vendor products. Review system designs to ensure accuracy and performance integrity.
- Weekly documentation of system, network, and server updates in compliance with SOP, work instructions, and standard processes to ensure successful support of the system.
- Provide continuous improvement feedback both written and verbal to improve products and processes.
- Demonstrates a pro-active approach towards safety, health, and quality in compliance with all company, governmental and customer regulations, while staying consistent to all company policies and procedures.
- Provide oversight, training and direction to internal and external contractors as assigned during implementations to ensure installations meet Care Communications requirements.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required or a minimum of 3+ years of related server/network engineering experience.
- Willing and able to travel approximately 50%; however, when business necessitates, travel can be 100% and on short notice. May be required to work weekends or after hours to meet customer needs.
- Advanced understanding of deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows platforms, SQL, IIS server and associated networked systems.
- Server administration experience with Linux server environment.
- Detailed knowledge of common network protocols/architecture (TCP/IP, IP routing, the OSI model, VLAN) and their relevant security issues including network troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, PUTTY, and CLI.
- Understanding of back-end network security and Active Directory functionality.
- Understanding of project management fundamentals and demonstrated history of performing projects.
- Ability to lead small teams with diverse technical skills during implementations as needed.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and have a valid driver's license.
- Experience configuring, setting up, and debugging PC-based systems.
Preferred Certifications in the following:
- Cisco certifications: CCNA, CCDP or CCNP, CWLS, CWNA,
- Wireless certifications: CWNE, CWNP, CWSP, AWLAT, MNAWS, MNAWP, MNCE,
- General certifications: MCSE or MCSA, Network+, Security +
May be required to demonstrate expertise in two or more of the following areas to support business needs:
- SQL/Scripting/Reporting Engines/Analytics (SAS Crystal, etc.)
- Networking (TCP/IP, Routing and Switching, Subnetting, Security)
- Enterprise level hardware (Server/Client OS, SANS, RAID)
- Middleware (Rhapsody, etc.)
- HL7
- Wireless - Enterprise level/managed networks
- RF Principles
- Cisco routing and switching technologies and capabilities
- Experience conducting wireless site assessments, wireless network configuration, certification, and debugging (use of voice and data protocol analyzers)
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
