Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and programming fire alarm systems. What You'll Do

  • Act as "our customer's best service provider" at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer's first choice for service.
  • Assist in the testing, programming and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Assist in the servicing of fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programing of Fire Alarm Systems, schematics and operational/product manuals.
  • Execute all work in accordance with local and national codes, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
    Act as our customers best service provider at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the first choice for service.
    Communicate and work with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.
    Keep up to date and informed on all company policies.
    Present a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behavior.


What You'll Need



  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
  • Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 3-5 years as a fire alarm service technician with experience in programming EST 3 or EST 4 (Edwards) fire alarm systems or similar complexity.

Preferred Experience: (but not required): 2 years of hands-on experience in the commercial/ industrial/ low voltage/ electrical industry.



  • NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm
  • Washington EL06 License
  • Associates degree in Electronic technology, Instrumentation
