Description

The Field Engineer (FE) is an
integral part of the project team responsible for providing technical and field
support to the Superintendent and Subcontractors. The position is entry-level designed to
prepare for a career path in field operations.

Essential
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Contribute to CWC's best in class
    safety culture by developing a thorough understanding of the Corporate Safety
    Plan and Site-Specific Safety Plan.
  • Become proficient in all field
    related tools in Procore.
  • Assist in the preparation of daily
    safety reports, inspection checklists, pre-task planning, permits, and
    observations.
  • Assist with site specific safety
    orientation as new Subcontractors arrive on site.
  • Review contract drawings,
    specifications, and shop drawings to learn the overall project scope, trades, and
    materials.
  • Gain an understanding of the various trades and the scopes of work for which they are responsible, review each subcontractor's contractual scope of work.
  • Assist in the preparation of daily construction reports.
  • Coordinate material deliveries with subcontractors and suppliers; confirm delivered materials are in compliance with approved submittals, verify quantity and condition.
  • Assist in the maintenance of contract documents and electronic web-based documents for field operations.
  • Learn the Quality Control process including
    the three phases of control for each phase of work; assist in the preparatory,
    initial and follow-up meetings and documentation. Obtain the ACOE QA/QC
    certification.
  • Become acquainted with the site-specific
    logistic plan; work with the Superintendent to gain knowledge of how the plan
    was developed and why.
  • Develop an understanding of the sequencing
    of the project and how to coordinate work to maintain sequence and minimize
    delay.
  • Develop an understanding of the
    critical path method of scheduling; work with Project Scheduler and
    Superintendent to gain knowledge of process and logic.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the project
    as-builts.
  • Develop a working knowledge of BIM
    and the ability to review and navigate within 3D model.
  • Use the latest technology and
    software to complete the projects assigned.
Knowledge, Experience, and Special Skills Required
  • Experience in the construction
    industry/trades highly desirable.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in
    Construction Management, Engineer or related field is a plus.
  • Passionate, self-motivated and
    dedicated to high-quality work. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to access and prioritize
    multiple tasks, projects and demands.
  • Excellent organizational and
    interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365,
    an understanding on Procore, Bluebeam and BIM a plus.

Wage Transparency

In accordance with the Maryland Wage Transparency Law, the base salary range for this position is: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00

The determination of salary is based on the candidate's individual professional experience, qualifications, education, skills, and training.

Job Demands

Individuals
should be able to reach above and below, stoop and bend, sit, walk and stand.
Individuals should also be able to lift, carry and/or moving items up to 75lbs.

May be
exposed to heavy machinery/equipment, hazardous chemicals and extreme weather
conditions.

Minimum
of 40 hours per week required. Works
hours will vary depending on project requirements, and may involve weekends and
night work.
