JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State Diet Assessment Center is seeking students to assist with a research project, starting in August 2024.Hours will be flexible, but mostly evenings.See below for more details.

The Penn State Diet Assessment Center (PSDAC) offers an exciting opportunity for undergraduate students to get involved in research.Students gain valuablenutritionexperience essential for a dietetic internship program.It is also an excellent opportunity for those who want to pursue an advanced degree innutritionor other health related profession.

We are looking to hire undergraduate students interested in training with us who would be able to continue working through the summer/fall.Employees should be nutritionmajors in the Department ofNutritional Sciences or those who are seeking a minor innutritionas part of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management or Human Development and Family Studies degree.

The jobis flexible enough to accommodate the busy schedules of students; due to the nature of the study, hours will be variable week to week.It requires an extensive training program that consists of learning about diet assessment methodology, interview techniques,nutritionresearch software, and the research studies conducted in the PSDAC. The ideal candidate should be willing to commit to one year of employment.

The jobrequirements are as follows:

* Must be a sophomore or junior nutrition major, or seeking a minor innutrition
* Must be willing to work during the summer and winter/spring breaks
* Must be willing to work evenings and some weekends

* Must be willing to work several 2 to 4 hour shifts per week (likely 6 - 12 hours total)

* Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required
