This Executive Chair position will oversee and align behavioral health and addictions research, manage academic affairs, oversee the recruitment of research faculty and work closely with the executive teams at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS), Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) and Rutgers Brain Health Institute to further the strategic mission of the departments and the larger institution. Reporting directly to the Dean of NJMS/RWJMS and the President and CEO of UBHC/UCHC, this individual will promote the development of a robust, multifaceted, externally funded behavioral health and addictions research program.

Specic responsibilities include leading the development and implementation of collaborative research, training and academic initiatives, developing and managing an effective and efcient revenue cycle process, and continuously evaluating and seeking opportunities for growth, expansion and improvement of the research, academic and training missions of both medical schools' departments of Psychiatry and UBHC/UCHC. In addition, the position is responsible for recruiting, mentoring and developing a team of highly motivated, talented people to lead the research, academic and training missions, and for ensuring the encourage-ment of multidisciplinary research, training and academic advancement and serving as a bridge between research advancements and clinical uptake.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

Qualied candidates must have an MD or MD/PhD, with recognized certication in Psychiatry and/or specic education and additional training in healthcare and research leadership. They also must have a career demonstrating successful, externally funded behavioral and/or addictions research. Ideal candidates will be strategic thinkers and visionaries who are innovative, creative and able to develop and mentor a dynamic team, with proven ability to lead change.
