Posting Summary

Responsible for staffing a virtual "drop-in" clinical by providing virtual psychiatric services five half-days/week to medical staff at Rutgers-RWJMS and RWJUH. Four half-day's/week, the attending will care for patients in a hybrid (virtual and in-office) outpatient program. Participate in weekend and weeknight call schedule.

Reports: (i) Chief Executive Officer of the Combined Medical Group of RWJ Barnabas Health, (ii) Executive Chair, Psychiatry, Behavioral Health and Addictions Research, Training and Academic Affairs, (iii) Interim Chair, Department of Psychiatry at RWJMS

A.Physician will perform the duties and the job of the area served with responsibility and high ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations and accreditation requirements

B.Physician is responsible for treatment planning and notes on each patient.

C.The Physician shall participate in activities for Psychiatry CME and Hospital support staff education.

D.The Physician shall utilize the resources of the Department in a manner consistent with the budget and the financial constraints, goals and objectives of the institution.

E.The Physician shall carry out his/her duties and perform his/her services in a manner consistent with the Bylaws, policies, rules and regulations of the Corporation, Hospital and Hospital's Medical-Dental Staff.

F.The Physician shall participate in staff meetings and Hospital or staff committees as may reasonably be requested and as consistent with other duties.

G.The Physician shall maintain or supervise the maintenance of adequate and proper medical records with respect to all professional services rendered by self and members of the support staff and shall assure compliance with all Corporation and Hospital rules and regulations regarding medical records and treatment and medication orders.

H.The Physician shall comply with all applicable reporting statutes and regulations that may apply to the services rendered under this Agreement. Copies of any and all applicable reporting statues and regulations to be compiled with shall be provided to the Physician by the Corporation when required for appropriate compliance.

I.All employed physicians are be responsible for call as part of their employment and responsibilities as faculty. The frequency of call will depend on the number of staff members available and will be determined by the Department Chair.

J.When the Physician or members of the Department are on clinical call, the Physician shall assure reasonable efforts to respond by telephone within 10 (ten) minutes of receiving the call and, if applicable, use his/her best efforts to arrive physically at the appropriate facility or Hospital facility within 30 (thirty) minutes. When/if Physician is responsible for administrative call; reasonable efforts shall be made to respond in a timely manner.

K.The Physician shall provide all necessary reports and assistance requested during any accreditation inspection or any state or federal licensure review or survey.

L.The Physician shall be required to participate in those managed care programs applicable to Hospital or Clinic patients where corresponding Hospital agreements exist.

M.Teach residents, medical students and other professional students assigned to the Department.

N.In performing the duties of a Staff Psychiatrist, Physician may supervise and cover residents. The Physician shall supervise and provide coverage of residents in accordance with the requirements imposed by State and Federal regulatory agencies, the pertinent medical specialty board, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the Joint Commission, or its Medical Staff.

O.The Physician agrees that she will be physically present when supervising the activities performed by residents and further agrees to be bound by the requirements of the Medicare and Medicaid programs, the pertinent medical specialty boards, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the Joint Commission, and the requirements of JCMC or its Medical Staff pertaining to direct physical presence by physicians who are charged with the responsibility of supervising residents
