Description

The incumbent will function as a faculty member in the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. The incumbent will provide training and development programs within the Behavioral Health Workforce Center (BHWC) and establish lines of research.


Examples of Duties

Teaching 40%
* Develop and expand training and development programs for behavioral health professionals and behavioral health leadership in the BHWC.
* Participate in education and departmental retreats.

Administration 30%
* Participate in the monthly Department of Psychiatry faculty meeting.
* Participate in workgroups as needed related to the BHWC, residency, clerkship and other faculty assignments.
* Present at conferences as needed related to the BHWC, residency, clerkship and other faculty assignments.
* Participate in Department or School of Medicine committees as assigned.
* Other administrative duties as assigned.

Service 25%
* Community engagement as it pertains to the programs for behavioral health trainees or the BHWC throughout Illinois.
* Facilitate design of clinical educational programs for behavioral health trainees throughout Illinois.
* Development of grand rounds and curriculum design.

Research 5%
* Establish lines of research on own or in collaboration with colleagues or other agencies as needed.


Qualifications

* PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or similar by the time of hire.
* Must have experience providing services to multicultural populations; experience dealing with underrepresented minority populations and be sensitive to the needs of underrepresented and minority populations.
