Position Description:

The University of Iowa nuclear theory group is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position working on relativistic electron and neutrino scattering from light nuclei. The funds are from an NSF EAGER grant that supports a collaborative research program involving scientists and graduate students in Poland (Jagiellonian University) and Ukraine (Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology) to investigate two-body currents in relativistic electron and neutrino scattering from Deuteron targets. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with scientists and students from all three institutions.

Education Requirement:


  • The successful applicant must have a PhD in Physics or a closely related field, awarded by July 1, 2024.


Required Qualifications:


  • Applicants should have a strong record of interest or experience in electron and/or neutrino scattering.


Desirable Qualifications:


  • Research experience in electron and neutrino scattering off of few nucleon targets, few nucleon physics, quantum field theory.
