JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Laboratory of Ramesh Giri in the Department of Chemistry, at The Pennsylvania State University, seeks to fill two Postdoctoral Research positions with individuals who have extensive experience in organic synthesis, method development and organometallic synthesis. Specifically, strong skills in experimental design, synthesis, compound characterization, organometallic chemistry, and mechanistic studies are required. Experience and knowledge in techniques for the characterization of materials are preferred, but not required. The applicants must have recently received, or be scheduled to receive, a Ph.D. in Chemistry, or related area, by the time employment starts. The individuals should be highly self-motivated and are expected to lead their own individual projects as well as contribute to collaborative research efforts. Interested and qualified applicants must submit applications electronically to include a cover letter describing your background and prior training, a CV which includes a list of publications, and a brief statement (1 to 2 pages) of research interests. Following a screening of these initial application materials, appropriate candidates will be contacted by email and asked to arrange for three (3) letters of recommendation to be sent. The initial appointment is funded for one year from the hire date with a possibility of re-funding. Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
