Overview
VTG is seeking a Sheetmetal Mechanic to work in our Fabrication Shop in Virginia Beach, VA.
What will you do?
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Measures, marks, and scribes layout on metals, plastics, woods, and laminates.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as press brakes, shears, punches, and rollers, drill presses, vertical and horizontal band saws, to fabricate parts to specifications.
- Utilizes hand tools such as grinders, drills, rivet guns, saws, calipers, scribes, combination squares.
- Verifies conformance of fabricated layouts and items to the blueprint specifications.
- Operate all machines in discipline, including Punch Press and Press Brake
Do you have what it takes?
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma / GED, plus one (1) - two (2) years of related experience setting up and operating press brakes.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Must be a US Citizen.
