Position Description:
Ryerson has an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician Level III position. As a Maintenance Technician III you are responsible for providing day-to-day support of operations through troubleshooting, problem analysis, and review of equipment failures. This position currently is located in Shelbyville, KY, and at such time as determined by Ryerson, this arrangement may change. This position is 1ST shift. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 7:00 am: 5:00pm.
Roles and Responsibilities: Use knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics to diagnose and repair equipment Mechanical and electrical machine diagnostics Coordinate major PMs on overhead cranes and powered industrial trucks Welding and fabrication abilities to repair or build parts and equipment In depth knowledge to adhere to and hold self and others accountable to lockout tagout procedures, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, confined space procedures and all other Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements Identify, gain approval, and implement projects to improve equipment uptime Use knowledge up to 600 VAC to diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment. Position Requirements:
Associates degree or Ryerson equivalent experience of technical nature (mechanical, electrical, computer or maintenance), OR (b) Certified mechanic (overhead cranes, fork trucks, diesel engines, tractor trailer), OR (c) Possesses documented PLC and HMI knowledge 6+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment required Ability to read feeler gauges, micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges and understand what to do with the information produced Ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, mobility and lifting Ability to perform basic Algebra functions (addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, conversions, and formulas) Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, fabrication, and diagnostic skills as required by essential functions of position Ability to communicate across platforms (email, Teams, verbally, virtually, etc.) and levels within the organization comfortably and clearly
