Job Summary:

The selected applicant will serve as an Electrophysiologist in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and the Director of the Lead Management Program. Applicants must have invasive cardiology skills covering the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic EP including lead extractions. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Track:
Clinical teaching and patient care responsibilities at UW Health approved locations with primary responsibilities staffing the EP labs and consult service at UW, Unity Point Health/Meriter and the VA. Additional responsibilities will include Madison based clinic and regional clinic opportunities. Responsibilities may also include in screening patients for participation in clinical trials research as well as the clinical teaching of fellows, residents and medical students on ward services and clinics.

Participation in research endeavors of the Division expected.

Qualifications:

For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.

For an appointment at Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor rank on CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CT Track.


License/Certification:

Required
Must be eligible for a WI medical license

Required
Completion of an accredited fellowship training program in Cardiovascular Electrophysiology must be completed by start date. Candidates should be skilled in the full range of device implantation and extraction as well as EP studies and ablations.


Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Additional Information:

The department will not be able to support a request for a J-1 waiver. If you chose to pursue a waiver and apply for our position, neither the UW nor UWMF will reimburse you for your legal or waiver fees.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment. University sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
