Position Description: |
The Department of Economics within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for one or more Faculty Positions in Economics at the levels of Associate or Full Professor with tenure starting Fall 2024. Fields that will be considered include labor, health or public economics, with a particular focus on empirical research. These hire(s) are part of our ongoing process of building up our applied microeconomics group. Building on our existing faculty in applied microeconomics and applied econometrics, we plan on multiple hires over the next few years. Beyond outstanding scholarship, the ideal candidate(s) will play an important role in hiring new members for our applied microeconomics and applied econometrics groups, leading the applied microeconomics group, and mentoring PhD students and junior faculty. We are looking for candidates who are outstanding scholars and will interact well with the other members of these groups. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Required Qualifications: |
- Possess a productive scholarly record that merits a tenured appointment as either an Associate or Full Professor of Economics at the University of Iowa;
- Experience conducting empirical research relating to the fields of labor economics, health economics, public economics, or applied econometrics;
- Possess an outstanding record and demonstrate leadership in the three areas - research, education and service-that are cornerstones of the university and college missions

- We particularly seek candidates who are prepared to conduct empirical research relating to the fields of labor economics, health economics, or public economics as well as teaching in these fields.
