Position Description: |
The Department of Neurology at University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible sleep medicine physician, to be appointed as a Clinical (non-Tenure) Track faculty member at any rank. The candidate will join a progressive and growing sleep division which serves both adult and pediatric patients. The overall philosophy of this neurology department is the provision of comprehensive patient-centered care in our inpatient and outpatient settings and in a variety of unique subspecialty practice settings within our healthcare system. Appointment will be on the non-tenure clinical track, open rank. The position is a 1.0 FTE and consists of 80% clinical, and 20% academic/administrative time. Clinical work for this position will include teaching and patient care within the Department of Neurology. All members of the Neurology faculty group share weekday, weekend and holiday coverage of the inpatient and consult services. We will work closely with the candidate to optimize his/her time to work in any preferred area of interest. The Department of Neurology is made up of more than 40 full-time faculty members who provide local, national and international leadership across a range of neurology areas, including Cognitive Neurology, Cerebrovascular Disease, Clinical Electrophysiology, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Neuroimmunology/MS, Neuromuscular Disease, Neuropsychology, and Sleep Disorders. Required Qualifications: |
- MD or DO degrees and eligible for an unrestricted Iowa medical license.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Sleep Medicine.
- Commitment to patient care, teaching, and scholarly professional activities.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
