Summary of Job Duties:This position is a Clinical Assistant Professor, a 12-month, non-tenure track appointment in the School of Nursing. This position will teach, advise, mentor, and evaluate students throughout the nursing program. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and or Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in nursing and currently be enrolled in a master's degree in nursing program; OR A master's degree with a major in nursing, OR A doctoral degree with a major in nursing, OR A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or EdD), and a masters in nursing;
  • Applicant must also have a current, unencumbered Arkansas or multi-state RN license from a compact state or the ability to obtain Arkansas licensure prior to position start date;
  • Applicant must also maintain in-state residency during employment.

Preferred Education and or Experience:

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field; or current enrollment in a doctoral program;
  • Teaching experience and recent experience in nursing practice or nursing education in the area(s) of program need;
  • CNECertification.

Job Duties:

  • Teach, advise, mentor, and evaluate students throughout the nursing program;
  • Participate in service to the university, community, and profession;
  • Establish and maintain a program of scholarly activities;
  • Conduct clinical, face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online student learning activities designed to meet student and program learning outcomes;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to teach and mentor students throughout the nursing program. Teaching may include clinical, face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats;
  • Ability to work with a diverse population;
  • Computer literacy and experience;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, nights, and weekends;
  • Ability to travel occasionally, which may include overnight stays;
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license;
  • Ability to maintain scheduled on-campus office days.
