Join the Facilities Management team as a Delivery & Mover Worker where you can be a part of a team working toward sustainability, recycling, and remodeling efforts for the University.

The Delivery & Mover Worker position is responsible for driving university vehicle/truck to pick up and transport large recycling bins; moves/delivers furniture, office items and/or packages throughout the university campus. Initially, the primary responsibility of this role will be focused on our recycling efforts to include the loading, pick-up and delivery, and unloading, of large bins of cardboard recycling from around campus to our recycling drop off location.

This position is responsible for driving company box trucks with lift gate, vehicles, forklifts and pallet jacks to designated areas for loading and unloading of materials and items. Focuses on safety, efficiency in moving skills, and communication with customers. Coordinate and move recycling items throughout the campus to include large disposal to offsite facilities. Independent thinker who is able to make logistical decisions (when to dispose of, what to donate or recycle, how to best complete a job, how to package items and load a truck). May use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items in and out of truck and docks. Pack, secure load items for transport while using proper equipment and securing apparatus. Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area to include truck, equipment, and warehouse. Complete monthly required Preventative Maintenance and truck inspections (tire pressure, oil, equipment, etc). May coordinate, lead, and direct the work of Delivery Mover Worker I employees.

We are in need of a candidate who will be dependable, have great attendance, will focus on safety, be efficient in moving skills, and have strong communication with customers, sometimes in stressful situations. Use of 14 foot box trucks and operation of lift gates to load and unload items required

Delivery & Mover Worker II drives university vehicle/truck, which may include the operation of liftgate and moves/delivers furniture, recycling, office items and/or packages throughout the university campus. This role will include leading and coordinating work orders and recycling of the delivery team per established procedures. A Delivery and Mover Worker focus' on safety, efficiency in moving skills, and communication with customers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.



Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required;

2-4 years' related experience and/or leading a team

Experience driving 14 foot box trucks or similar type of vehicle.

CDL preferred but not required

Required Licenses/Certifications:

Must have a current and valid driver's license for a minimum of 6 months, with a clean driving record for the last 3 years, and no major violations within the last 5 years
