Avante Developer & Systems Administrator

Status: Exempt (Salaried)

Position Summary

The Avante Developer & Systems Administrator is a key role on the IT team and will be working on the current Avante 9 system and then transition to SAP S/4HANA. As an Avante Developer & Systems Administrator you will contribute and participate in analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of existing and new implementations in the Avante ERP environment. This includes improving the platform for the users and working on innovative efficiency improvements. In this position, you will work with both the IT team and our business teams. We are seeking someone who is interested in the opportunity to be directly part of day-to-day operations and support of Avante, and ultimately an ERP modernization to the SAP S/4HANA platform. As such, technical knowledge, adaptability, willingness to learn, responsiveness, and interpersonal skills are each critical elements of success in this position.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements to ensure the accuracy and utility of program functionality by collaborating with users and other IT staff
  • Analyze the existing interface requirements, and design solutions with functional resources and/or system owners and users
  • Ensure business requirements are included and appropriately tested
  • Write clean, concise, robust, and well-documented code
  • Contribute to maturing development processes and assisting teammates
  • Implement configuration and code changes to meet defined requirements
  • Perform unit testing, and assist with the development of functional/technical design documents
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve any issues discovered through System Test or QA/UAT efforts and support knowledge transfer efforts
  • Support end user initial production support, correct defects revealed by production operations
  • Responsible for designing, developing, and supporting various new and existing Avante application backend development
  • Maintaining awareness of industry best practices and standards
  • Collaborate with the team on larger features as well as work independently on smaller ones
  • Understand technical frameworks and landscape to provide explanations of various alternatives
  • Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
  • Ability to work with Avante Support and/or outside consultants to support the Avante application
  • Transition to SAP S4/HANA management &development upon retirement of Avante ERP
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, or holidays as business priorities require
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment; resourcefully and independently
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • At least 5+ years of total development experience in ERP platforms
  • Proficiency with relational databases including writing stored procedures, queries, and reports
  • Understanding of and ability to demonstrate object-oriented programming principles.
  • Exposure and depth with UniData systems preferred
  • Experience with SAP S4/HANA platform desired, but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills / detail-oriented
  • Excellent at identifying and solving problems
  • Capable of researching complex problems and finding solution
  • Must be driven and self-motivated
  • Superior communication skills

Pay Rate:

$96,800.00 - $154,900.00
