Job Description

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) in Rolla, Missouri is seeking outstanding applicants for a non-tenure-track (NTT) teaching faculty position at the assistant/associate professor rank. NTT teaching faculty members contribute to the core activity of teaching and are fully engaged in the department's curriculum development and delivery. The successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching at the undergraduate level across a range of fundamental mechanical and aerospace engineering courses. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching strength and interest in machine design, kinematics/machine dynamics, or structures.

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is the largest department on campus, and each program is the largest of its kind in Missouri. The department currently has 24 internationally recognized tenured/tenure-track faculty, 7 teaching faculty, 10 staff members, over 200 graduate students (including 90 Ph.D. students), over 1,500 undergraduate students, and over 12,000 living alumni. Qualifications

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field. Successful prior teaching experience is an important consideration. Industrial experience is very desirable but not required.

COLLEGE of ENGINEERING & COMPUTING (CEC)
Missouri S&T's College of Engineering and Computing is the largest of three colleges at S&T, accounting for approximately 80% of the total enrollment (about 4,500 undergraduates and 800 graduate students). The college includes more than 170 ranked faculty members who serve in 16 undergraduate programs, all with master's and doctoral equivalents organized into nine academic departments.
