With the leadership of the Safety and Health Extension (SHE) Program Leader, the applicant will work to design, develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate educational materials, strategies, techniques, and programs that serve to reduce occupational injuries and illnesses within industries in West Virginia and surrounding states. Training will take place under the sponsorship of management, unions, associations, and the public. This position will focus and lead efforts for safety and health training program administration, training courses and safety and health services. This position is a state funded position. Both in-state and out-of-state travel is required. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualifications
For an appointment at the Assistant Professor rank the applicant must have a master's degree from an accredited school or university in industrial hygiene, occupational safety and health, public health, or related field, plus required 10 years work experience required to apply for the position. For an appointment at the Associate Professor rank the applicant must have either an earned doctorate from an accredited school or university in industrial hygiene, occupational safety and health, public health, education or related field and 6 years work experience or a master's degree plus required 10 years work experience with 5 of those 10 years of experience teaching, research and service experience in higher education required to apply for the position.
