Description

This Manufacturing Estimator will review and evaluate incoming products utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality standards to determine manufacturing feasibility. Prepare detailed manufacturing processes, bill of materials, and outside process requirements to calculate product pricing for customers..

Essential Responsibilities



  • Develop the required manufacturing processes with labor and cost estimates for new product development. May include complex multi-level indentured bill of materials.
  • Analyze repeat jobs for profitability and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop complex customer proposals.
  • Work on cross functional teams for process improvement and cost reduction
  • Project management
  • Manage and monitor the estimating process.
  • Train and mentor junior level estimators.
  • Collect and understand all customer requirements/needs.
  • Compare requirements and needs to our capabilities and capacities to determine if we can meet customer requests and if not, what it would take to meet the challenge.
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers and outside resources to obtain information necessary to estimate costs.
  • Produce competitive price quotations in a timely manner, typically within 1 business day.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Prior experience in cost estimation on CNC machining processes and machines is REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or four years related experience.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Estimate manufacturing cycle times
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization


Desired Characteristics



  • Aerospace industry experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience working with various metals including steel, aluminum, titanium, etc...

Hiring Range: 90K - 140K - Actual compensation may vary based on various factors including experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills.
