Work Shift:

Salary Exempt (United States of America) The Supply Chain Supervisor is located onsite at our customer's filling plant. This position is responsible for executing efficient, effective flow and storage of component inventory to support the customer's operations up to the point of consumption and replenishment.
This position provides operational and project support for supply chain activities, with a major focus on quality management, logistics, and inventory analysis.
This role interacts with staff at all levels to define and carry out supply management tasks, while identifying efficiencies to improve service levels. This position completes operational tasks in accordance with all relevant regulatory requirements, standard operating policies/procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Manage JIT processes related to inventory of bottles, caps, cartons, steel drums, kegs, pails, and lids to match our customer's scheduled filling requirements.

  • Interface with customer Planners, Supervisors, and operators to insure least-cost assembly and continuity between 100+ different product SKU's.

  • Complete receipts of components into the JDE ERP system. Update receipt records and file paperwork according the document retention policy.

  • Assist in physical unloading of materials as needed. Coordinate with customer operators to return unused components to the offsite warehouse.

  • Conduct post-production inventory counts to confirm the quantity of components used or spoiled in production. Investigate variances and work with customer operators to minimize spoilage quantities.

  • Coordinate closed-loop dunnage deliveries and return shipments back to suppliers.

  • Investigate and report on component quality status. Work with suppliers to complete root cause investigations and corrective actions. Follow up on corrective actions to measure efficacy and impact. Lead investigations into customer loss- and near-loss incidents. Manage return of product to suppliers.

  • Support activities at offsite warehouse and customer plant to ensure inventory accuracy, including conducting regular cycle counts, investigations, and reporting. Ensure that inventory is managed according to FIFO principles.

  • Conduct quarterly review of slow-moving inventory. Investigate status of slow-moving inventory, and support activities to write off and dispose of obsolete items.

  • Contribute to overall team improvement by identifying areas for continuous improvement, and participating in or leading projects to improve processes.

  • Cross-train with other VMI team members to ensure critical task coverage during absences and vacations.

  • Participate in all Altium- and customer-assigned safety trainings, communications, and meetings.

  • Adhere to Altium or customer requirements for safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related disciplines.

  • One to two years of work experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.

  • Experience with continuous improvement tools, such as problem-solving, root cause analysis, LEAN/SixSigma principles.

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

  • Innate ability to develop willing followers and lead others by influence

  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Project scheduling software

Preferred:

  • Proficient in using Microsoft programs. High degree of proficiency in Excel, including knowledge of formulas, pivot tables, filtering, and graphing.

  • Experience with working in JD Edwards ERP system.

  • Certification or advanced degree with a concentration in Supply Chain, Business, or other related field
