Programs Intern

We are seeking a Programs Intern to join Argo's Programs Team. Under close supervision, this position will work with internal and external partners to support both risk-bearing Programs, as well as Alternative Risk Solutions (our Fronting business). Argo is one of the market leaders in Programs and Fronting with longstanding experience and market-leading capabilities. This role requires strong interest in insurance or risk management and a proactive approach to problem solving. This role is a great entre into the Specialty Commercial Insurance space.

The position will be based out of San Antonio, TX with the expectation to come into the office on designated days. Consideration will also be given to candidates based in Chicago, IL or New York, NY.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the role are:



  • Under close supervision, support the full lifecycle of program operations including sourcing, diligence, onboarding, and ongoing management of programs.
  • Assist in streamlining program management and delivering solutions that elevate Argo's offerings.
  • Support ongoing regulatory compliance and State Department of Insurance management
  • Assist in various activities such as data management and the integration of external partners into Argo systems.
  • Help to conduct underwriting file reviews and participate in strategic program audits.
  • Generate regular reports with analytics and insights, supporting both internal and external partners.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Program Management Checklist, ensuring smooth operations from end-to-end



Core qualifications and requirements for this position include:



  • College degree with a general understanding of the commercial Insurance industry preferred
  • Quick learner with the ability to identify creative solutions to increase efficiency and solve problems for the business unit
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing direction, adjusting priorities on multiple tasks while maintaining clear communication with Commercial Programs leadership.
  • Must display a professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with initiative and ability to work in time sensitive service focused environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Quantitative skills to support analytics and drive portfolio insight
  • Strong PC skills, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Familiarity with or strong interest in learning SQL preferred
  • Accounting coursework or experience preferred
  • Finance coursework or experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of data management preferred
