Position Description


Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
The Eberhardt School of Business at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a part-time faculty appointment in business analytics.

The candidate must be able to provide instruction at the graduate level in business analytics programs. Potential courses taught would include:

  • Business Analytics
  • Applied Analytics
  • Database Management
  • Research Methods & Ethics
  • Advanced Business Analytics
  • Capstone Projects
  • Other related courses.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Management, Engineering, Mathematics, statistics, or a related field with significant emphasis on quantitative and analytic subjects.
  • Competency in at least of one of the following applications/programming languages: Excel, SQL, R, Python, JMP, Power BI, and Tableau.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in business analytics, data science, computer science, information systems, operations management, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field with significant emphasis on quantitative/analytic subjects.
  • Instructional experiences at the college level in analytic/quantitative disciplines.
  • Work/educational experience in related disciplines.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using a computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Schedule is dependent on department need. Must be available to teach evenings.
Hiring Range $10,200 per course. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
