Position Description: |
The University of Iowa College of Nursing is seeking tenured Associate and Full Professors. As a leading research institution, we are well-equipped to support candidates with robust programs of research who are committed to advancing our research, teaching, and service missions. The College has several prestigious endowed professorships available for these positions. The recipients of these professorships receive significant resources for research, faculty and student mentorship, and scholarly engagement. Priority will be given to applicants with expertise in:
- Women's Health
- Pediatrics/Child/Neonatal Health
- Psychiatric/Mental Health
Additionally, applicants with expertise in other areas and populations will be considered. The College of Nursing has two well-developed signature areas relevant to researchers looking to further their careers in the focal areas outlined above including 1). symptom and multimorbidity science, and 2). informatics, data science, and decision support. These areas are cross-cutting in terms of populations and the life span. In addition, the University of Iowa is home to a very successful Institute for Clinical and Translational Science, Stead Family Children's Hospital, the Iowa Biobank, a treasure trove of maternal and fetal data, and the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, which has been at the forefront of psychological research and training for a century. Education Requirement: |
- Earned PhD in nursing or a healthcare-related field from an accredited university or college
|
Required Qualifications: |
- Demonstrated scholarly achievement supported by substantial grant funding and high-quality publications
- Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and/or postdoctoral level
- Indications of evolving leadership in departmental, collegiate, and/or University service and increasing engagement in professional service.

Desirable Qualifications: |
- Demonstrated expertise in the priority areas noted above
- Continued scholarly achievement of high quality, accompanied by unmistakableevidence of national and international recognition as a scholar.
- Consistent record of high-quality teaching at all appropriate instructional levels,including successful guidance of doctoral graduate students to the completion oftheir degree programs.
- Substantial record of significant and effective service to thedepartment, college, and/or the University and to the profession.
- Licensed Registered Nurse and eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa
