Speech Language Pathologist - Total Communication
Overview Nationwide Children's Hospital is excited to announce the opening of a Speech-Language Pathologist with an emphasis on evaluation and treatment using total communication for deaf/hard of hearing patients. We are seeking candidates and/or clinical fellowships candidates with knowledge of research-based practices in evaluation and intervention strategies focusing on aural rehabilitation and language acquisition. Qualified candidates must have knowledge of sign language as well as augmentative/alternative communication modalities. The opportunity is a full-time clinical and educational position, that provides the opportunity to complete the ASHA clinical fellowship with the support of an excellent team of experienced speech-language pathologists and other experienced speech-language pathology leaders. Following successful completion of the clinical fellowship, the position continues as a full time position at Nationwide Children's Hospital, home of one of the nation's largest and most exciting speech-language pathology departments. The fellowship provides opportunities to engage in multiple aspects of speech-language pathology in an urban environment, including engaging with our AAC teams, Hearing Program and our Diversity Community Outreach Programs. Responsibilities Responsibilities: The Staff Speech/Language Pathologist supports, communicates, implements and enforces the philosophy, mission, values, standards, policies and procedures of Nationwide Children's Hospital. Evaluates patients with varied diagnoses to determine developmental and/or functional status using standardized measures or clinical observations; identifies patient's strengths and deficits; establishes goals; and develops an individualized treatment plan incorporating patient and family needs.
