This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work any Flex shift schedule with a Start time between the hours of 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Earliest shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM & Latest shift: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays. Our office is located at 109 Rykowski Lane, Middletown, NY.

We offer 3 weeks of paid on-the-job training. The hours during training will be 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM from Monday - Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Constantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards
  • Respond to complex customer calls
  • Resolve customer service inquiries which could include:


    • Benefit and Eligibility information
    • Billing and Payment issues
    • Customer material requests
    • Physician assignments
    • Authorization for treatment
    • Explanation of Benefits (EOB)

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of customer service experience with analyzing and solving customer problems OR 1+ years of experience in an office setting environment, using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties
  • Basic proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Ability to work 100% onsite at 109 Rykowski Lane, Middletown, NY
  • Availability to work any Flex shift schedule with a Start time between the hours of 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Earliest shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM & Latest shift: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM) including the flexibility to work occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays based on business need



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Ability to navigate a computer while on the phone
  • Ability to multi - task, this includes ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product
  • Ability to remain focused and productive each day though tasks may be repetitive



Physical and Work Environment:



  • Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands / fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computer
  • Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, and floor activity



New York Residents Only: The hourly range for this is $16.00 - $23.94 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited tolocal labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
