Position Summary

As a Controls Specialist Technician II, you'll build upon your foundational skills to take on more complex challenges in troubleshooting and enhancing material handling systems. This role offers opportunities for career advancement and development into leadership positions within the organization.

Responsibilities

    Conducts advanced Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and Control View HMI.
  • Leads change management process and develops complex PLC ladder code changes using Rockwell RSLogix family IDE's (5000 preferred).
  • Utilizes AutoCAD proficiently for reviewing, developing, and maintaining electrical schematic and conveyor layout drawings.
  • Leads incident follow-up, root cause analysis, and documentation efforts.
  • Documents and communicates control system and equipment configuration changes.
  • Provides technical mentorship and guidance to junior technicians, fostering skill development.
  • Completes advanced safety training and ensures compliance with safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • On-call availability as needed.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; prefer a 2-year professional electrical training degree or bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and Control View HMI.
  • At least 4 years of experience with AutoCAD for control layout design and schematics.
  • Advanced proficiency in AB PLC processors (CompactLogix and ControlLogix preferred) and input/output modules. Extensive experience with non-AB control systems such as Siemens and Mitsubishi.
  • Expertise in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various control components.
  • In-depth knowledge of PLC programs and adeptness at troubleshooting ladder logic, CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules, devices, and communications modules (Ethernet).
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of executing assigned project tasks and providing technical guidance.
  • Advanced reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and modifying mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to utilize SCADA systems and KPIs effectively.
  • Experience in training others with lesser skills.
  • Accessibility to all levels and areas of the facility.
  • Strong interpretation and application of policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail.
