Position Description:

The University of Iowa's College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a full-time clinical or tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology & Medicine.Major responsibilities include:





  • Active participation in departmental faculty practice plan, including biopsy services and/or clinical oral pathology practice;
  • Teaching and research in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology or Oral Medicine; and
  • Collaborating with collegiate faculty for teaching, research and service.




Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.



Education Requirement:

Applicants must have:





  • D.D.S./D.M.D. or equivalent;
  • Completion of a CODA- Accredited advanced training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology or Oral Medicine; and


Required Qualifications:


  • Diplomate status, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology or Oral Medicine.


Desirable Qualifications:


  • MS or equivalent;
  • Experience directing/teaching an Advanced Education Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology or Oral Medicine;
  • Experience managing clinical oral pathology patients, including head and neck pain conditions;
  • Didactic and clinical/technical teaching experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology or Oral Medicine at the graduate and predoctoral levels;
  • Teaching experience in systemic pathology; and
  • Prior experience in an Oral Pathology Laboratory Biopsy Service.
