The Rutgers University, School of Nursing invites applications for an Inaugural Vice Dean of Nursing Research.
As the Inaugural Vice Dean of Nursing Research, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy by shaping and expanding the Schools' programs of research in ways that can promote health, guide healthcare practices, and transform lives. The core responsibilities of the Inaugural Vice Dean of Nursing Research will include the cultivation of externally funded, faculty-led programs of research with an emphasis on NIH or NIH-equivalent funding. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Vice Dean will help to identify the School of Nursing's research priorities, actively stimulate and mentor research-focused faculty, identify potential funding sources, and aid in the recruitment of research-focused faculty.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain an exemplary program of research funded by NIH or equivalent source.
* Maintain an exemplary, sustained, impactful publication record.
* Provide leadership and vision in planning and implementing the School's research agenda.
* Collaborate and partner with Rutgers / RBHS' Centers and Schools to create interdisciplinary research opportunities.
* Mentor research faculty with a priority on the submission of NIH applications.
* Mentor Ph.D. students in the development of grant proposals (e.g. F31, AHRQ R36).
* Provide oversight and vision for the School of Nursing's Centers of Excellence and set standards for research productivity and internal support.
* Monitor the School of Nursing's rankings as published by the Blue Mountain Institute of Medical Research and implement successful strategies to achieve and sustain a competitive ranking.
* Provide feedback to the Associate Dean, Division of Nursing Science regarding faculty member's research and scholarship performance.
* Work collaboratively with the Associate Dean, Division of Nursing Science in support of the Division's faculty, mission, and vision.
* Provide the dean with regular updates, strategies to achieve research goals, and recommended metrics to gauge goal achievements.
* Collaborate with dean and vice deans in executive leadership activities.
* Support the School's mission, vision, and goals.
