POSITION SUMMARY: Install, troubleshoot, inspect, test, adjust, repair, and/or modify avionics systems, sub-systems and equipment installed on aircraft, in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum three (3) years of experience as an Avionics Technician in an installation/modification facility. LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, installation drawings or governmental regulations. MATH ABILITY: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. COMPUTER SKILLS: Experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook, internet software, e-mail, database software, inventory software, order processing software. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, explosives, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
