Job Description:

We have an immediate opening for a Practice Assistant (Litigation) to assist attorneys in our San Francisco office. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position.

Location: San Francisco, CA

  • Create and edit documents in Word, Excel, and other applications from handwritten copy, typed copy and dictation.
  • Administer multiple calendars, coordinate meetings and events, prepare expense reimbursements and oversee travel arrangements.
  • Prepare correspondence as directed by attorneys.
  • Ensure proper setup and handling of client files.
  • Manage client intake process, timekeeping and billing.
  • Assist with all aspects of court submissions/filings. Including knowledge and application of various court requirements.
  • Assembly of documents, mailing, service, and submission of the filing (both hard copy and e-filings).
  • Strong commitment to individual assignments as well as to the secretarial team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a high-volume, fast-paced professional setting; litigation client experience preferred.
  • Prior travel and professional event coordination is considered a plus.
  • Superior technical skills in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and assume responsibility to prioritize multiple tasks, deal with urgent client needs, and work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong vocabulary, grammar, spelling and punctuation skills.
  • Must be a team player focused on internal and external client service.

In accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, the anticipated annual salary range for this position, depending on location, is as follows: San Francisco: $72,715 to 104,012.

In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on an array of factors, including but not limited to: work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications. Because such contingent compensation is not yet calculable or may be zero ($0) in some circumstances, the above-listed salary range is Nixon Peabody's good faith estimate of the annual salary it reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of this posting.
