Job Description

Exciting opportunity at MSK: Join our team as a Senior Research Assistant! We're looking for an outstanding wet lab research scientist to join out Mouse Genetics Core Facility (MGCF).

Role Overview:

    Work with the Innovation team to provide support to research projects.
  • Develop and optimize new technologies using germline and somatic genome editing..
  • Design, develop, and implement novel and clinically relevant laboratory techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with the informatics team in the analysis of genomic and other multi-omic data generated by the group.
  • Collaborate with scientists to facilitate application of genetically engineered mouse models to their research areas.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience (mouse genetics and embryology, mouse genome engineering etc.).

Core Skills:

  • Outstanding attention to detail and strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving to ensure unforeseen issues are handled appropriately and resolved in a timely fashion.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact across all levels in a confident, professional manner.
  • Enthusiasm and dedication to MSK's vision, mission and values.

Additional Information:

  • Location: 460 East 67th Street, NYC
  • Schedule: Onsite, Monday to Friday
  • Reporting to the Core Facility Head

Pay Range: $73,900 - $114,400

Learn more about MGCF: Mouse Genetics Core Facility at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center provides a range of technical support to facilitate the use of genetically engineered mice (GEM) for in vivo studies to dissect gene functions in complex biological processes that are of interest to investigators at MSKCC and collaborating institutions in the region. Expertise of MGCF encompasses molecular and cell biology to design and generate a variety of reagents for mouse genome engineering, embryo micromanipulation techniques to produce GEMs, and reproductive biology platform to maximize the utility of established GEM resources.
